In the Spring of each year the United Way of Jefferson and North Walworth Counties solicits grant applications from local agencies. United Way Board members and community volunteers form a committee to review each grant application to determine if funds will be allocated and what the allocation amount will be.
The total amount of monies granted is dependent on the funds raised during the previous Fall campaign. In 2011, 26 local agencies were allocated a total of $225,000.
